Sister Haqiqah is the daughter of parents, who moved to Los Angeles from Pennsylvania during the Great Post WWII Migration, seeking better opportunities. Early in the marriage she and her family moved to Makkah, Saudi Arabia for their Arabic and Islamic Studies Program at Umm Al Qura University. She and her husband have resided in Riverside County since 2010, where their family comes to visit.

During her over twenty-year career with the American Red Cross, she became a national instructor and instructor-trainer for their Diversity Programs. She has been an Emergency Relief worker who has responded to disasters locally and nationally. These experiences enabled her to relate to people from a variety of places, backgrounds, and cultures. During her tenure, she’s worked with city and county officials on the Central Coast.

She has mentored Muslim women through workshops, seminars, and events as a part of the South Bay Muslim Women’s Association.

In the Spring of 2020, she began participating in a variety of Zoom classes offered by Olive Community Services. She considers it, a blessing to interact with other Olivers during the COVID-19 pandemic. She was the 2020 winner of the Grandparent Day poster contest, with her iridescent arts & craft poster entry.

Sister Haqiqah’s motto is, “by working together as a team, we can share our strengths as we strive to help others.” She believes that helping and reaching out to your community, especially the elderly, is to exemplify what Islam teaches and what Allah wants us to be
